A bronze statuette of St. Christopher
Title
A bronze statuette of St. Christopher
Creator
Description
According to G. Swarzenski, the bronze statuette of St. Christopher, preserved at the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, it is the work of art of someone associated with Ghiberti and Nanni di Banco, or it is based on an earlier lost model made by Ghiberti himself. Swarzenski bases his theory on a stylistic analysis of the statuette and assuming that the writing ‘1407’ carved under it should be considered the date of production.
