Description
The author suggests that Bernardo Vecchietti may have been the anonymus writer behind the Codex Magliabechiano. The theory is in the first place based on a handwriting comparison between the Codex and others Vecchietti’s autographs. The many notes, annotations and different contents of the Codex seem to at least refer to a specifc inner circle – together with Ottaviano de’ Medici, Giorgio Vasari, Pontormo- and could be dated between 1525 and 1550.
